'Kings of Leon' are Grammy-nominated band from Tennessee, America. The band is made up of three brothers Caleb Followill (Lead vocals, rhythm guitar) Nathan Followill (Drums, backing vocals) Jared Followill (Bass guitar, backing vocals) and first cousin Matthew Followill (Lead guitar). The bands name derived from Nathan, Caleb And Jared Father and Grandfather; both named Leon. Kings Of Leon have released four full-length studio albums to date achieving higher levels of success in Europe.
The band falls into the genre of Indie/Rock with a strong southern blues influence. Kings of Leon have a remarkably wide target audience, with their diverse sound connecting to many different age groups and genders.
The bands image has always been an important tool in marketing the Followill’s; with constant reports of their lavish rock and roll lifestyle they quickly became icons to large audiences. As well as standard CD album sales, Kings Of Leon released the single 'Crawl' from the album 'Only By The Night' exclusively online, this free download was a perfect chance to raise publicity on the forthcoming album. Kings of Leon signed to 'Sony BMG' in 2003 and have continued to be represented by the super label.
